God's Quiet Love
The love God showed to the Apostle Paul on the Damascus road was very different from the view of many that God's love comes quietly into our hearts.
Our Lord flashed a light brighter than the sun in Paul's eyes and he was thrown to the ground. That must have hurt. Both Paul and the speechless men with him heard the Lord and then Paul got up off the ground and obeyed the Lords command to go into the city and Paul who was now blind did not eat or drink for three days while he prayed and he saw in a vision from God of a man named Ananias who might regain his sight. This man who's name was Ananias received a vision to go and restore Paul's sight. Ananias did as the Lord commanded and Paul's eye sight was restored, he received the Holy Spirit and was baptized. He ate and gained strength. He was now in fellowship with the same people he once persecuted and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.”
God's love does not come quietly. His love is supernatural and transforming. God's love is loud and clear for us who are now alive because we now know that He sent His Son to earth. Our Lord did great miracles and professed He and the Father are One. He fulfilled prophecy. He suffered greatly beyond any thing we can comprehend and then God crushed His Son on a cross and it was finished. The perfect and only propitiation for sin. The Lord rose from the dead on the third day so that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. There is nothing quite about God and His love for us who believe in His Son.
