1:27 Gentiles … Christ in you. The OT predicted the coming of the Messiah and that the Gentiles would partake of salvation (cf. Isaiah 42:6; 45:21, 22; 49:6; 52:10; 60:1–3; Psalms 22:27; 65:5; 98:2, 3), but it did not reveal that the Messiah would actually live in each member of His redeemed church, made up mostly of Gentiles.

That believers, both Jew and Gentile, now possess the surpassing riches of the indwelling Christ is the glorious revealed mystery (John 14:23; Romans 8:9, 10; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians. 1:7, 17, 18; 3:8–10, 16–19). the hope of glory. The indwelling Spirit of Christ is the guarantee to each believer of future glory (Romans 8:11; Ephesians 1:13, 14; 1 Peter 1:3, 4).

JONAH’S THANKSGIVING

Amazingly, the prophet Jonah gave thanks to God while he was in the great fish’s belly (Jon. 2:1). How would you respond if you were Jonah? Maybe you would cry out, “What are You doing, God? Where are You? Why is this happening?” But Jonah reacted differently: “I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and You heard My voice” (v. 2). He then described his sinking into the sea and the severity of his dilemma (vv. 3–5)

Nevertheless, in the midst of such great trauma, Jonah prayed, “You have brought up my life from the pit, O Lord, my God. When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord; and my prayer went up to You, into Your holy temple” (vv. 6–7). Although he had his weaknesses, Jonah reflected great spiritual stability in his prayer. He was confident of God’s ability to deliver him if He so chose. In the same way, the peace of God will help you if you react to circumstances with thankful prayer.

Ancient buildings were often built with precious metals and jewels. No Christian need worry about the foundation of his faith. That is the marble and granite of the person and work of Christ, secure and stable and perfect. Our concern should be that, whatever we build on this foundation, we build with the best of materials. There is only one foundation, but there are many types of materials for erecting the spiritual edifice. As long as believers are alive, they are building. They are building some sort of life, some sort of church, some sort of Christian fellowship and service. It may be a beautiful structure or a hovel, it may be by intention or by neglect, but it cannot help being something.

Hallowed be Your name

The adjective form hallowed, as used in The Lord's Prayer, means holy, consecrated, sacred, or revered.

Celebrities use God's name as a curse word to express disgust in movies and everybody in the theater laughs. Nobody gets up and walks out. Nobody demands a refund. Who is it that refuses to watch another movie unless they are sure it will not blaspheme the name of God who gave us ears to hear? Nobody in the theater cares that it is depraved and indifferent to allow the name of God who gave them life to be treated like garbage. For those Christians that are not bothered by this should examine themselves and know that it is written, "to the one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin." (James 4:17)

People wouldn't hesitate to defend their own mother's name if it were dragged through the dung of societies murderous thoughts and then expressed to the paying public as a form of entertainment. God has said that He will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. (Exodus 20:7)

The Apostle Paul tells us to examine ourselves. (2 Corinthians 13:5) Repent toward God and put your faith in Jesus Christ alone or you will suffer in hell for all eternity. It is by the fear of the Lord that men depart from evil. (Proverbs 16:6)

C.S. Lewis wrote:

There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors, and hail a materialist or magician with the same delight (The Screwtape Letters [New York: Macmillan, 1961], p. 3).

Lewis was right. Unfortunately, strands of both errors exist in today’s church. On the one hand, some Christians are materialists who fail to understand that the Christian life is a fierce spiritual battle.

One reason for a materialistic attitude is indifference. When your world is an easy place to live in, it’s easy to forget that a spiritual war is going on. It’s easy to forget that millions of souls in the world are in the grasp of Satan. And it’s easy to forget that Satan always takes advantage of Christians who are lethargic, indolent, or spiritually stagnant. He loves it when Christians try to hole up in a sanctified environment instead of fighting the battle. Yet that is precisely the agenda of many churches today. People are trying desperately to enjoy fellowship while remaining indifferent to the battle.

Another reason for being materialistic is worldliness. Too many Christians crave earthly, temporal pleasures instead of the rigors of warfare. They seek a life of ease—a life of entertainment and activities, never realizing their role in the battle of the ages. A believer who invests his or her time and resources in mundane things won’t understand spiritual warfare.

A Christian who had a deficient view of God’s grace said to me, “The wonderful thing about the Christian life is that basically you can do whatever you want.” Believers are not handed a free pass to do what they want. They are called to obey Christ, the Commander-in-Chief. In Matthew 16:24–25, Jesus raised this call: “If any one wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it.”

But attempt to go further: suppose that savage sits down on the sand and endeavors to form to himself a conception of this watch-maker, his personal affections and manners; his disposition, acquirement's, and moral character—all that goes to make up a personality; could he ever think or reason out a real man—the man who made the watch, so that he could say, "I am acquainted with him?" It seems trifling to ask such questions, but is the eternal and infinite God so much more within the grasp of human reason? No, indeed! The God of Scripture can only be known by those to whom He makes Himself known."

"Nor is God known by the intellect. "God is Spirit" (John 4:24), and therefore can only be known spiritually. But fallen man is not spiritual, he is carnal. He is dead to all that is spiritual. Unless he is born again supernaturally brought from death unto life, miraculously translated out of darkness into light, he cannot even see the things of God (John 3:3), still less apprehend them (1 Cor. 2:14). The Holy Spirit has to shine in our hearts (not intellects) in order to give us "the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" (2 Cor. 4:6). And even that spiritual knowledge is but fragmentary. The regenerated soul has to grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus (2 Pet. 3.18).The principal prayer and aim of Christians should be that we "walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God" (Col. 1:10).

The Bible claims that God knows everything. He has all knowledge. If this is true, then the Bible is the word of someone who knows everything there is to know. If we want to come to the right conclusions about anything, the only sure way would be to start with the word of the One who has absolute knowledge. We Christians must build all of our thinking in every area on the Bible. We must start with God's Word, not the word of finite, fallible man. We must judge what people say on the basis of what God's Word says -- not the other way around. The principles that govern our thinking in every area must come from the Scriptures. These principles are immutable. No informed evolutionist would question the fact that modern science arose from a biblical foundation. In other words, what we believe and how we think depends upon the basis with which we start. The Bible contains the very foundational principles and details necessary to develop correct thinking in every area.

Unfortunately, too many people have started with the word of men and then judged what the Bible states. What an arrogant position this is! We cannot tell God what He should say. We must be prepared to come totally under His authority and listen to what He says to us. Yes, creation is religion, but it is based on revelation from the all-knowing Creator. Evolution is religion, but it is not based on revelation from God. Instead it is based on the words of men who were not there -- men who (by their own admission) do not know everything. And these men, the Bible informs us, are biased against God and His Word.
If the Bible is not the infallible word of the One who knows everything, then we have exactly nothing. We can never be sure about anything. What then is truth: my word, your word, or someone else's word? In fact, how do you determine what truth is or how to search for it.

Christians have the Bible, which claims to be the Word of God. We can also take what the Bible says and see if the evidence of the present does fit.

Bob Jones. He's 70 years old, going through hard times and he is looking for relatives. He doesn't believe he will live much longer. Steve Pivovaroff's wife was able to provide Bob with a Sandwich and drinks. I asked him if he believed in God and he said yes. I then asked him whom was he putting his trust into saving him from his sins and he said his trust was in Christ alone. He knew verses of scriptures and we encouraged one another and then I prayed for him and we hugged and he was soon on the bus headed for another part of town.

Nickname "Flocko" He lives on the streets. He heard us preach the Word of God. He said he wants to get right with God. I gave him a bible and he was showing me his mural that he was painting. He wanted to get off the streets and so another Christian brother was able to find a place for him to stay for the night.

My neighbor Arnaldo paints over graffiti along the outside of his property. Taggers have no respect for God or creation. When I was young and stupid and I didn't know better I was just as bad or worse. A tagger needs to know that God is angry with the wicked every day. And that God has appointed a day when each of us will die and then comes judgement. Each of us will spend eternity in one of two places. Heaven or Hell. Jesus said the way is narrow that leads to life and there are few that find it and He also said to strive to enter through the narrow gate for many I tell you will seek to enter but will not be able.

The word ‘mishpat’ is used, which implies non-selective observance of the directives of the Torah to a person’s utmost. So this is what the Mashiakh – Messiah – must have taught about ‘salvation’: As stipulated in Devarim ["Deuteronomy"] 6:4-9,11:13-21 one is required to keep all of the directives of Torâh′ to one’s utmost—viz., “with all one’s heart, psyche and might [lit. "very"]“—”for the purpose of extending your days and the days of your children… like the days of the heavens above the earth” (i.e., eternal life). According to the Tan’’kh - Yekhezeqeil ["Ezekiel"] chapter 18 et.al – the Creator confer His atonement in His loving kindness to those and only those turning away from their Torah-transgressions and (re)turning to non-selectively Torah-observance including mishpat. Everyone has transgressed the Torah and its possible to obtain forgiveness from the Creator in His loving kindness when living in the above way. The Creator has promised this in His Bible - which is in Hebrew - and He doesn't lie. According to Torah if you breach one directive you are only guilty of breaching that particular directive of Torah. You should then repent, ask the Creator of forgiveness and return to doing your utmost to observe the directives of Torah non-selectively. Thus, the way of ‘salvation’ in NT contradicts Torah and what the Mashiakh taught. Thus, it will not lead to eternal life. It is only an emotional filled experience that doesn’t describe a real encounter with the Creator. I am a former Christian and understand that after having studied Torah in Hebrew according to etymology. Doing your utmost to follow the directives of Torah will lead you into an immensly meaningful relationsship with the Creator. Anders Branderud

Hi Anders, At no time in the world’s history has anyone ever earned salvation by his own works. In both The Tanak and the Brit Chadesha, people were saved by the grace of HaShem and the merits of Yeshua. The following texts make it clear that people who lived before the cross were saved on the same terms as were people in Brit Chadesha times. "I am not ashamed of the Besuras HaGeulah of Yeshua: for it is the power of HaShem unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." Romans 1:16. "For unto us was Besuras HaGeulah preached, as well as unto them." Hebrews 4:2. "For by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Galatians 2:16. "Neither is there Yeshu'at Eloheinu in any other: for there is none other name under Shomayim given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12. "But though we, or a malach from Shomayim, preach any other Besuras HaGeulah unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Galatians 1 :8. The Tanak itself teaches salvation through Yeshua. The "scriptures" spoken of in the following texts are Tanak. These texts make it clear that Tanak teaches the same Besuras HaGeulah of salvation through Yeshua that we find in the Brit Chadesha. In your article you said, "Since God does not judge a man before he dies I have no business in doing so either."

I disagree with your view that God does not judge a man before he dies since Jesus said, "Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God." (John 3:18) and of course we have no business passing judgement on unbelievers but those who call themselves believers but act as unbelievers we as Christians can pass judgement as it is written, "I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES." 1 Corinthians 5:11-13

So it appears clear from Scripture that God has condemned unbelievers already (John 3:18) and those who are clearly false prophets we can pass judgement on and then treat them as unbelievers as Christians are instructed in (1 Corinthians 5:11-13).

Because Harold Camping has sinned and has ignored reproof which is mandated and instructed in Matthew 18:15-18 then God tells us to let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Which means as an unbeliever. Harold Camping needs to repent toward God and put his faith in Jesus Christ alone for His salvation. To trust Jesus Christ is to believe and obey the words of our Lord who said to the Apostles that no man knows the day or hour. Scripture is the final authority on every thing we are taught. Let God be true but every man a liar. (Romans 3:4)

Harold Camping said, "I would be absolutely in rebellion against God if I thought anything other than it is absolutely going to happen without any question.” And this also goes hand in hand with the fact that Harold Camping was instructed by his Church to stop prophesying but instead of listening to the Church he left it and started his own. Governing All Natural Processes

The first law of thermodynamics states (in accordance with Genesis 2:1-3) that none of the tremendous energy (or "power") of the universe is now being created, so that the universe could not have created itself. The second law (in accordance with Romans 8:20-22, as well as Genesis 3:17-19) states that the available energy of the universe is decreasing, indication that sometime in the past all the energy (including matter) was available and perfectly organized, like a clock that had just been wound up. This shows that the universe must have been created, even though it could not create itself. The two laws thus point inexorably back to Genesis 1:1.

His Eternal Power

The reservoirs of power in the created universe are so vast as to be completely incomprehensible in their fullness. The earth's energy, for all its physical and biological processes, comes from the sun. But only an infinitesimal fraction of the sun's power is thus utilized by the earth. And there are uncountable billions of suns scattered throughout the universe. The more intensively and thoroughly man probes the universe - whether the submicroscopic universe of the atomic nucleus or the tremendous metagalactic universe of astronomy - the more amazingly intricate and grand are God's reservoirs of power revealed to be.

In these chapters we will frequently refer to the two great principles of thermodynamics, which describe the basic ways physical power in the universe, is manifested. These two all-embracing laws of science affirm that none of this power is now coming into existence, even though its form is continually changing and is, in fact, continually being degraded into less useful and available forms. These principles of conservation and decay are common to everyday experience and are likewise substantiated by the most precise scientific measurements.

The continual degradation of power (or, better, energy) in the universe is inseparably associated with the progress of time. That is, as time goes on, the energy of the universe becomes progressively less available for maintenance of its processes. The universe is gradually becoming more and more disordered as its entropy inexorably increases. So inextricably is time now associated with the law of entropy, that Sir Arthur Eddington many years ago gave the second law of thermodynamics the graphic name of "time's arrow." The universe is decaying toward an eventual "heat death." However, since it is far from "dead," it must have had a beginning! Thus, by the second law, the universe must have been created somehow at some finite time in the past, since otherwise it would have died long ago.

The processes of the universe, insofar as science is able to measure and understand them, are inextricably intertwined with time. And since the available power for continuance of these processes, as tremendously great as it is, is now running down, it is obvious that the source, the beginning, of this power is outside of time - that is, it is associated not with time, but with eternity. Its beginning was outside of time, and its possible renewal must likewise be outside of time. It cannot be "temporal" power. It is therefore eternal power. And all these "things that are made" continually give witness to God's "eternal power," exactly as the Scripture says. Every process the scientist studies and every system designed by the technologist continually bear witness that the ultimate power source driving the process or the system must ultimately be the Creator of power, the Omnipotent One.

It is always a great time of fellowship and freedom to share the Gospel out on Brand Blvd in Glendale, California. God has given us much by allowing us the freedom to speak the truth in love without the persecution that is so much more costly in other parts of the world.

Here I am on the box giving the good person test to Lolena who professed to be a good person. I later found out as I talked to her on the box that she professed to be a Christian. I explained to her that in Romans 3:10-12 that God has written that no one is good or does good, not even one. Compared to other people we may appear better than others but compared to God who is Holy, Righteous and Just, not one of us on this earth even compares to who God is. She was very thankful that I had taken the time to speak with her.

Here is a pic of Greg (Last Words Ministry), Mike (Ambassadors Academy 2) & Nora (Granada Hills Church). There are many Christians that come out to Brand Blvd., to engage in one-2-one conversations, hand out tracts or just be with us and pray for God's will to be done. The fellowship with other Christians on the streets is some thing that every Christian should experience and enjoy. If we love Jesus we will want to be around other Christians that love Jesus, talk about our Lord and share the Good News with people when the opportunity comes up.Being a Christian is not some thing you only do on Sunday and then live like the world the rest of the week. We read and obey God's Word and live it out day by day. We pray for God's mercy and forgiveness when we stumble. God resist the proud but gives grace to the humble. (James 4:6) When we stumble. We get up, brush ourselves off and strive toward that narrow gate.

Jesus said, “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able." Luke 13:24

There will be people in your life that make such a huge impact on your life and then as a result you want to follow in their footsteps because of the remarkable ability of how they interact with others with their personality and compassion. Tony is one of those people that I am so honored and thankful to God for allowing me to be friends with. God is using Tony in an amazing way.

"...since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:8-11

Each person that gets up on the box has their own style and approach to sharing the Gospel but the core of the message remains the same. Unless a person repents toward God and by faith, receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they will spend eternity in the lake of fire. We can't earn our way into heaven because all our righteous acts are like a filthy rag before God and no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws him or her and Jesus will raise them up on the last day.

This is 15 year old Ronnie who open air preached for the first time.

Ronnie, Frank, Dru & Eric. Ronnie's dad, Frank is the executive pastor of As You Are Church. His dad & fellow brother-in-Christ Eric who is part of the Mens Ministry at As You Are Church attended Dru Morgan's Evangelism Crash Course held at Shepherd of the Hills in Porter Ranch. They were the only two that came out to share the gospel the evening of the Evangelism Crash Course and they both got up on the box and open air preached as well.

This is the head security guard (Mendoza) on Brand Blvd. He is very disappointed that we are out there open air preaching on the public sidewalk. We were very polite with Mr. Mendoza but he was not cooperating with us. After Tony, Greg & Dru left to do the radio show I was approached by the security. They asked me if the kid on the microphone was with our group. I told him yes and then they asked me if I had a permit and asked to see my identification. A permit is required in Glendale if you use amplification. After providing the info to them I was told that the police were being called but apparently that never happened as the police never showed up. Please pray for Mendoza that he will repent toward God and believe the Gospel.

26 year old Christopher (professing Christian) was picked out of the crowd to be interviewed by Tony on Last Words Radio. After getting off the phone he said that he was struggling with the idea of using the law. I reminded him of Galatians 3:24 where it says that the law is our tutor that leads us to Christ and Romans 7:7 where it is written by Paul that he would not have known sin except by the law. He said he had a lot to think about and I gave him True and False Conversion CD, Why Christianity tract, Save Yourself Some Pain and a $10 gift card to Starbucks. He was very thankful and we talked for at about 20 minutes after he got off the phone. Pray for Christopher.

Abraham was now eighty-five years old. He had been walking with the Lord for ten years and had learned some valuable lessons about faith. God had promised Abraham and Sarah a child but had not told them when the child would be born. It was a period of waiting, and most people don’t like to wait. But it is through “faith and patience [that we] inherit the promises” (Heb. 6:12).

God has a perfect timetable for all that He wants to do. After all, this event was not the birth of just another baby: It was part of God’s great plan of salvation for the whole world. However, as Sarah waited for something to happen, she became impatient.

Why did God wait so long? He wanted Abraham and Sarah to be physically “as good as dead” (Heb. 11:12) so that God alone would get the glory. At age eighty-five, Abraham was still virile enough to father a child by Hagar; so the time for the miracle baby had not yet arrived. Whatever is truly done by faith is done for the glory of God (Rom. 4:20) and not for the praise of man.

A willingness to wait on the Lord is another evidence that you are walking by faith. “He that believeth shall not make haste” (Isa. 28:16). Paul quoted this verse in Romans 10:11 and amplified its meaning: “Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.” (The same Holy Spirit inspired both Isaiah and Paul, and He has the right to make these changes.) Whenever we stop trusting God, we start to “make haste” in the wrong direction and we end up being ashamed.

A third evidence of faith is that you are acting on the author- ity of God’s Word. “So, then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom. 10:17). You can act by faith, and know that God will bless, if you are obeying what He says in His Word. Hebrews 11 records the mighty acts of ordinary men and women who dared to believe God’s promises and obey His commandments.

Finally, whenever you act by faith, God will give joy and peace in your life. “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing” (Rom. 15:13). Conflict may surround you, but you will have God’s peace and joy within you.

These, then, are the evidences of true biblical faith: (1) you are willing to wait; (2) you are concerned only for the glory of God; (3) you are obeying God’s Word; and (4) you have God’s joy and peace within. While Abraham and Sarah were waiting, God was increasing their faith and patience and building character (James 1:1–4). Then something happened that put Abraham and Sarah on a painful detour.

NoHo Metro Good News 4/10/2011

Very interesting day filled with joy and many tears as I read the book of John at NoHo Metro Station. Trust God, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, exhortation and teaching (1 Timothy 4:13) and God's Word will not return void. (Isaiah 55:11) I believe the Angels were rejoicing in heaven (Luke 15:10) before I left NoHo today. Keep pressing on!

When I arrived at North Hollywood Metro Station a fight almost broke out between 3 people. The man's lady friend managed to calm her friend down before things got dangerous.

"The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked, And the one who loves violence His soul hates." Psalm 11:5

I had a very close call today at Noho while reading the book of John. In the corner of my eye I noticed a man rush toward me and I glanced up just in time to see him swing a bottle at my head. I managed to step to the side and he missed my head and then I repositioned myself and continued reading as he tried to provoke me with empty words and he was yelling out to the crowd and he had a strong smell of hard liquor before he finally walked away. Metro Security wasn't around when this happened. And shortly after I look around and everyone is just going about their business as if nothing happened.

Chris heard me preaching so he came over and listened to me before we talked to make sure the things I was preaching were true. He shared his testimony with me and said that with the help of an organization called the Dream Center in Los Angeles he was able to get off drugs. Chris agreed with me and I was able to correct him on some of his beliefs and he was very thankful for me taking the time to talk with him.

"Strike a scoffer and the naive may become shrewd, But reprove one who has understanding and he will gain knowledge." (Proverbs 19:25)

"Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you, Reprove a wise man and he will love you." (Proverbs 9:8)

Three teenaged men, one with a guitar and two others with skateboards listened to me read many Chapters of the Gospel of John and they heard the Gospel several times and they said they believed and one of the young men asked me about Jesus & the trinity and he wasn't sure if Jesus was a created being or God and I quoted John 1:1 & John 1:14 and he agreed with me and when we were done talking I gave him an Evidence bible that I got from the evangelism booth at my church, Grace Community Church. It was a very good day and I'm praising the Lord through all my circumstances.

On many occasions I'm able to read several books of the bible with the help of friends and I will transition to the Law and Grace of the Gospel or emphasize a verse I come across and people will either ignore or listen or will occasionally come up to other evangelist handing out tracts or engage me in conversation and I'll take the time to listen to them and use the law to the proud and grace to the humble. ( James 4:6 )

No need to use a lot of body language or yelling. I prefer preaching without an amplifier or soap box unless someone provides one for me. I prefer that my voice not over power the entire location so people can comfortably walk by me without hurting their ears. Lifting up my voice is good but it's the Father who draws them and it does not matter the man who wills or the man who runs but on God who has mercy. (Romans 9:16)

Heckler of the day!

For the most part there is little opposition with the occasional heckler who will try to break me down or a parent will tell me to shut up because there are kids present but then they will curse at me in the presence of their kids.

At NoHo Metro Station I've had some one screaming at me less than a couple of feet away while Metro Security walks up and is visibly ready to take the offending party to the pavement if he gets physical with me. (Wish I had video of that) I just kept reading as I ignored the scoffer (Proverbs 9:8) and eventually he walked away.

People that try to provoke you to sin or attempt to get you to lose your train of thought either verbally with foul language, aggressive posture's or physical violence should be ignored for the most part.

After watching this video I felt the need to go out and preach the Gospel. So....

I went to North Hollywood by myself today and I stood on the other side of the red sign at the bus stop and I set my tracts down beside me and I looked around and then I prayed that God's will be done and then I introduced myself to the crowd and began to read the book of Galatians while transitioning from reading the Scripture to exhortation and teaching. 4/4/2011

While I was reading the Scriptures this nice lady who said she was an Orthodox Christian came up to me and she had many questions as well as suggestions for me to follow. She listened and she appeared to agree with me on certain things but I was concerned for her because she claimed to have visions of angles and Jesus and I told her that Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14) I gave her directions to my Church because she was seeking financial help. I wasn't sure of what the Church could actually do for her since she is looking for someone to take care of her by paying her bills each month. I also invited her to come back next Monday and I would talk with her more.

While I was having the conversation with the lady another man kept coming up and interrupting us and trying to teach the lady some thing from the bible. I then interrupted the man and asked him if he was a Christian and he said, "Yes" and I then asked him why was he interrupting me as I was sharing the teachings of God with her and the man stopped talking to her and he apologized and stepped back in regret and I reached out and shook his hand to let him know I forgave him for that. He was sorry about it and left us alone to talk as the lady also had tried several times to stop the man from interrupting us. I'm thankful to God for the opportunity to go out and proclaim the truth of God's Word.

A small item I read in the news twenty years ago has stuck in my mind ever since. The Rockdale County High School Bulldogs basketball team of Conyers, Georgia, won their first-ever state championship in March of 1987, rolling over all their opponents. After eighteen years of coaching the team without a championship, coach Cleveland Stroud was ecstatic.

But a few weeks after the championship game, Coach Stroud was doing a routine review of his players’ grades when he discovered that one of his third‑string players had failed some courses, rendering the player academically ineligible for the basketball team.

The struggling student was by no means a factor in the team’s victory. He was an underclassman who suited up for games but hadn’t actually seen any playing time all season. During one of the semifinal matches, however, with the team leading by more than 20 points, Coach Stroud wanted to give every player an opportunity to participate. He had put that player in the game for less than 45 seconds. The ineligible man had scored no points. His participation had in no way affected the outcome of the game. But it was, technically, a violation of state eligibility standards.

Coach Stroud was in a distressing predicament. If he revealed the infraction, his team would be disqualified and stripped of their championship. If he kept quiet, it was highly unlikely anyone outside the school would ever discover the offense.

Yet the coach realized that at the very least, the player involved was aware of the breach of rules. It was also possible that other students on the team knew and thought their coach had purposely ignored the eligibility guidelines. But more important still, Coach Stroud himself knew, and if he deliberately tried to keep the facts from coming to light, his greatest coaching victory would be forever tainted with an ugly secret.

Coach Stroud said from the moment he discovered the violation, he knew what he had to do. He never even pondered any alternatives. His priorities had been set long before this. He realized that his team’s championship was not as important as their character. “People forget the scores of basketball games,” he said. “They don’t ever forget what you’re made of.”

He reported the infraction and forfeited the only state championship his team had ever won.

But both coach and team won a far more important kind of honor than they forfeited. They kept their integrity intact and gained an immeasurable amount of trust and respect. The coach was recognized with numerous teacher-of-the-year, coach-of-the-year, and citizen-of-the-year awards, as well as a formal commendation from the Georgia State Legislature. A few years later he was elected to Conyers City council, where he still serves. He was right. People who would have long ago forgotten about the Bulldogs’ victory in the state championship have never forgotten about this coach’s integrity.

Starbucks Evangelism 3/4/2011

I decided to goto Burbank and find a place to read the bible out loud (not scream) so many would hear and I would transition to the Good News as I felt led. There was a large group of kids dancing and playing music. Some guy on the corner was playing his horn and the Girl Scouts were selling their girl scout cookies that unfortunately now is affiliated with Planned Parenthood which is an Anti-Life organization. It's odd that Planned Parenthood would call Christians Anti-Choice when it's the unborn child that really has no choice in the matter when it comes to the choice of abortion.

What could a Christian accomplish here on a public sidewalk in front of Starbucks? Mark 16:15 applies to this location. I am not as bold as I want to be. I preached with fear and trembling for about 2 hours. I have a great fear of pronouncing words incorrectly. In some cases I skipped a bunch of verses because I was really having trouble with the Genealogy of Jesus. But I continued on as I wept knowing that God accomplishes what pleases Him.

A sample of the people that took notice as they heard me reading from the book of Luke. Be encouraged, because you can do this. Yeah, I was mocked a little and pretty girls laughed and giggled and one guy got into a shouting match with me. I was only trying to preach over him but that was going no where so eventually I went back to reading the Scriptures at a relaxed level and he walked away.

A group of kids came by twice and I caused a kid who claimed to be a Christian to examine his life more closely to see if he was in the faith. He said he wasn't reading the bible. Him and a friend of his took Evidence Bibles and then 2 guys who were standing close by and listening began to ask me questions and I shared the Good News with him and I got him to admit that he was not broken over his sin. He was not sorrowful over his sin. He was nothing like the tax collector that stood afar and was unable to lift his eyes to heaven as it is written, ".... God be merciful to me a sinner." What was really interesting was that I revealed to him that Jesus was God in the flesh (The Son of God) who is equal to the Father. He did not know that.

Alex was very grateful for the conversation that we had and so was his friend Adam who listened to me. I gave him a book to read called the "Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel and I also gave them both audio copies of True & False Conversion by Ray Comfort available at www.livingwaters.com

On my way home from Burbank I got off the freeway and I noticed a DUI Check Point just East of the 5 Freeway and so I parked across the street and I noticed people standing around with bibles in their hands along with law enforcement & tow truck drivers.

Cars were being filtered into a single line and the officers were checking the drivers to see if they were under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance along with proper identification. I decided to go across the street and see if anyone would take a Gospel Tract from me. I live in a predominate Hispanic neighborhood so I made sure I had plenty of Spanish Million Dollar Tracts to give out. All the police officers took the tracks which was a surprise because usually police officer's do not take any thing when they are working so it was a pleasant surprise. The tow truck drivers get theirs and then I handed out more than a dozen Spanish tracts to the men & women that had bibles. I told them the bill had a bible message on the back and they smiled.

I then tried to hand the leader of the Church group a tract but he wouldn't take one even after I told him I was a Christian and that it had a bible message on the back. He said he was a Christian but said no thanks. It feels awful enough to be rejected by an unbeliever but from a professing Christian? It doesn't make any sense. What a great way for that Christian to use that tract to start a conversation with the Officer about his eternal soul. The officer next to him took the Gospel Tract and then I reminded the group leader of Mark 16:15 to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every one. A professing Christian should never turn down a tract. Shame on him!

I would say that the group leader was lacking in the department of encouragement. Maybe the tract I put in the Police man's hand did lead the professing Christian to share the Word of Christ with the officer or maybe it brought conviction to him for not bring up the things of God. I don't know for sure but i do know that it's appointed for a man to die once and then comes the judgement.

Hebrews 9:27 We should share our faith while we still have time.

So I went home and I decided to go back out and now it's around 12:30am and the police have two young men get out of their vehicle and it turns out these two are cousins. While one is given a sobriety test the other one is told to stand near me as his cousin goes through different test eventually fails the test and it is determined that he was under the influence of Marijuana and is led away in hand cuffs.

The cousin didn't even realize his older cousin was going to jail as I broke the news to him. He was really upset because he had a long walk home so I immediately offered him a ride and so I drove him to his house and before he got out I gave him a book to read called, "How to live forever without being Religious" by Ray Comfort and he was very grateful as he walked away from my truck.

So me & Jeff started our Afternoon at the North Hollywood Metro Station. Jeff makes an effort to talk with Jehovah Witnesses every time we go there and he leaves them with a Scripture to think about. Be kind when witnessing to JW's. I tend to be a bull in a glass shop so when I watch & listen to Jeff I am learning how to give an answer with gentleness and reverence. (1 Peter 3:15)

StreetEvangelistJeff said, "I asked these two Jehovah Witness Sisters if they could read me 1 John 5:1, they said they could not because they only had Spanish Bibles. (Hmmmm....so dishonest) So I read it to them from my Bible. "Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him." 1 John 5:1 This particular passage is very perplexing to a JW and is almost impossible to explain using Watchtower theology. Chris and I only got to speak with them briefly before they 'suddenly' had to leave. I pray that their difficulty with this passage haunts them. I pray that they will ultimately come to True Salvation in Christ."

A cult is a group that claims to be Christian but adds or takes away from the teachings of Scripture.

This isn't some thing we've always done on the Subway. I get really nervous handing out tracts in confined spaces but what was the worst thing that happen? A few people ignored me or said no thank you but most of the people took the tracts with the bible message on the back. At the end of the clip I ran out and had to go back to my backpack to get more tracts.

One guy thought that Roosevelt on my Zero bill tract looked like Satan. I've learned that no matter how much someone tries to irritate you just ignore the sarcasm and treat them like you would want to be treated. When we got off train and we were riding up the escalator the same guy asked for a different tract to add to his Satan tract as we both laughed and joked about him being a millionaire now that he had a million dollar bill.

Universal City Metro Station is between North Hollywood & Hollywood. We've passed by this stop several times so this week we decided to take a look at this potential fishing pond and the fish were definitely biting. (Mark 1:17)

We left Universal and went to Hollywood where we handed out tracts for awhile before heading back home on the Subway.

Me & Jeff took turns reading the back of a Gospel Tract on the Subway ride home. This should be encouraging for any Christian to do. Even if your mind goes blank you have the words right in front of you so you can continue on and finish the message. People are listening even if they don't show it. God draws His Children to Jesus Christ. (John 6:44) Be encouraged because you can do this!

Driving to NoHo Metro Station to begin our day of proclaiming the Good News. (Mark 1:17)

There were Jehovah witnesses out at the North Hollywood Metro Station sharing a gospel of a different Jesus as taught by the false prophet Joseph Smith. Jeff asked them if the WatchTower had predicted Armageddon in 1975. After a bit of hemming and hawing they said "yes indeed". Jeff then asked them if they knew that the Watch Tower had claimed to be a Prophet of Jehovah. They said "no" so Jeff pointed them to the April 1, 1972 WatchTower Page 197, where they indeed claim to be a Prophet. Then Jeff asked them to read Jehovah's Biblical test of a true Prophet in Deuteronomy 18:20-22. They were speechless..

The WatchTower has several False Prophecies: 1874, 1914, 1917, 1918, 1925, 1941, 1975. The Bible says that just 1 false prophecy Made in the name of God is enough to warrant Death. The score card doesn't look that good for the WatchTower.

Have you ever seen a drunk guy read scripture to you on the streets? I had to cut his segment short because of his foul language. It's included in the video below.

Me & Jeff were going to ride the escalator to the third floor but we made an unintentional detour after Jeff says we will see what God does in our lives and we ended up meeting a man named Francis who is a missionary from Korea who is sharing the Good News in Hollywood. The short time we had in fellowship was very encouraging to all of us and later on we met another missionary from Korea named Peter who was preaching in the open air on the corner of Hollywood & Highland.

I was telling Jeff in the car that I've turned down many opportunities to share the Gospel because of rain and my fear of what people might think. If the post office can deliver our mail rain or shine, why can't Christian's deliver the Good News in those same conditions? So here we are at 6777 Hollywood & Highland and people are getting out of the rain and as a result they hear the Good News. StreetEvangelist Jeff said, "Yea, they're out of the rain and into the Light of God's Word!"

Jeff is reading the book of Genesis and I have my umbrella and I'm handing out gospel tracts to people in the rain and they are taking them. The most popular tracts today were the jumbo Obama millions & the laminated Facebook & Million Dollar Bill tracts that Jeff brought.

Rainy Day Evangelism Tip: Laminate your tracts!

I handed out Spanish Gospel Tracts that were laminated to the people on the Subway and this man read the back of the tract. By putting aside my fear of man I've presented the Good News to a man that I could not communicate with because of our language barrier, but fortunately we have resources such as LivingWaters & Custom Tract Source to equip us with the Gospel message so we are able to obey the Great Commission given to us by Jesus Christ. Be encouraged because you can do this.

StreetEvangelist Jeff commented, "This guy was really intent when he was reading the tract. I pray that the Holy Spirit was at work in him.

On the Subway ride back me & Jeff took turns reading the back of the Facebook tract like we did the previous weekend and several people heard the Good News. This is so easy that a caveman can do this!
